An innovative initiative is taking place in the Philippines to bring sustainable lighting to homes in impoverished communities. Empty plastic bottles are installed in the roof, filled with water and bleach they refract sunlight. These “solar light bulbs” provide light equivalent to a 55watt light bulb.

Wow. Elijah Wood plays such an amazing serial killer (I’d never thought of that as a “type” before). First Sin City and now this.
Quick synopsis of the flick:
A 21st century Jack the Ripper set in present-day LA, MANIAC is a re-boot of the cult film considered by many to be the most suspenseful slasher movie ever made - an intimate, visually daring, psychologically complex and profoundly horrific trip into the downward spiralling nightmare of a killer and his victims.
I should probably mention that the trailer is really graphic.
For some reason I’ve been looking at em. It’s interesting what schools and families feed their kids.

I heard that Bradley Cooper was gunning to play Tom. Maybe it’s a good thing they didn’t go with him b/c I think he’d inadvertently steal some of DiCaprio’s shine. He’s just so pretty.

Even though I’m not a big fan of all their collaborations (Dark Shadows was “eh”), it’s things like this that make me continue to enjoy Tim Burton and Johnny Depp.
